On the Move, On Alert

We spoke with 50 last-mile delivery workers across platforms in Bangalore around how their daily lives on the job. While we did not directly ask about safety, aspects of it came up in every conversation.
They spoke about ordinary aspects of the work: the routes they take/avoid, the need to push through tiring days, how the weather including rain, heat and pollution impacts them, what happens if something goes wrong, and how do they seek help.
On the Move, On Alert is Mudito's latest research on everyday safety in last-mile delivery work. It discusses the experience of delivery workers, how incentives structures on platforms are designed and how they might inform risk, and how the system could reimagine this differently.
